| No trades for JSmoove, Beasley, or "Superman!" |
During the 2012 NBA Trade Deadline teams were allowed to trade players before 3:57 ET on March 16, 2012. However some teams decided not to trade for players or future draft picks and work with what they've got. The Boston Celtics, a team full of many trade rumors, didn't break up the Big 4 of Rondo, Garnett, Pierce, or Allen in exchange for younger talent. The Atlanta Hawks despite Josh Smith, the almost 1st time NBA All Star, demanding to be traded, they kept him even though the Hawks need a decent center because of Al Horford's early season injury. The Minnesota Timberwolves were looking to deal Michael Beasley for a point guard to replace Ricky Rubio after Rubio tore his ACL against the Los Angeles Lakers on March 9th, however they decided to keep Beasley around for another season after Beasley told the Timberwolves head coach Rick Adleman he'd mature and play more defense. Michael Beasley was expected to get traded to the Los Angeles Lakers where he'd start alongside Kobe Bryant hopefully which would help him showcase his talent more and mature. There were numerous reports of Josh Smith being traded to the Boston Celtics for Kevin Garnett and possibly Ray Allen; however, Danny Ainge GM for the Celtics didn't make any new moves. Now the most shocking was Orlando Magic's star center, Dwight Howard, despite all the drama, deciding to stick with the Magic for one more year as long as the team puts more talent around him. Shocking huh? Personally, I would have liked to see Beasley on the Lakers because they lack depth at the small forward position and playing with talented players like Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, and of course Kobe Bryant would make this team unbeatable (now that they have a quality point guard). I wanted JSmoove to go to Boston because we really need to get younger. I also thought Dwight should've gone to the Dallas Mavericks because because then Dirk wouldn't have to carry so much of the offensive burden. Hopefully my predictions come true for next season and if there's no lockout.
